Yesterday Rhombus 1.1 was released. It looks very interesting. Python-like syntax, designed for extensibility. I've admired a lot of the Racket group's products, and the fact that Rhombus (and a handful of Rhombus-derived languages that have already been created) are Racket dialects is kind of amazing.

@paniash it depens on your goals. If you wanna be an #emacs hacker, then learn Emacs Lisp. If you seek functional purity and concurrency, go for #clojure. If you want full language customization and DSLs, learn #racket. If you are a minimalist, give #scheme a try (Chez or Guile). If you are a generalist, Common #lisp.

@skybert I am super curious why the article does not mention HtDP at all.

HtDP is truly wonderful introduction into programming. It is also using Racket as the example. And, its writters are also the writter of Racket.

@mro @lualang I don't exactly remember when I switched from flat files and #Racket to #sqlite, #CGI and #Lua, this post goes over more details:

The post includes a description of the stack. Basically, it is a Caddy server with a CGI module that spawns PUC Lua 5.3 for each request. The CGI gets the post from a SQLite file and assembles the HTML back using mustache templates.

Cautiously excited. This is the #racket programming language on #haikuos - specifically it's the DrRacket IDE running on Haiku.

This was a goal for me when I started porting #Chez #Scheme to Haiku this year (Racket is built with Chez). Prof. Matthew Flatt did some initial work in a Racket branch when he reviewed my work on Chez, and today I took that branch and made a handful of changes, and very rapidly got here (I'm flabberghasted that all the Raco buildout worked and gracket too)

* Extract .zips to git tags: v2.0 v2.1 v2.2

* Add homepage/doc link in Codeberg.
