It always strikes me as rather odd that people often reel off their influences like a who's who of the cool underground or obscure punk band... me? I'm influenced by all the music I've ever heard, and Rachmaninoff is no exception.
People need to give up on the "me so cool" bullshit.
See through it.
Listen to #Rachmaninoff.
Well, would you look at what I just found! This is one of my favorite piano concerti, and to hear it played on two pianos is nothing short of absolutely wild.

So I'm listening to a bunch of classical records today that I got out of a charity shop a short while back. It bothers me very much that one record of Rachmaninoff's concertos has No.1 on side 2, and No. 2 on side 1.
#MariahCarey‘s #AllIWantForChristmasIsYou gets the #JosepCastanyerAlonso classical treatment: six variations of the theme in the style of six famous composers. My fave is #5 à la #Rachmaninoff. Do you have a preference? Let me know below.

😍 #StandingOvations

Musical Interlude; OK, how about some musical drama? Rachmaninoff was perhaps the last real representation of Romanticism in Russian classical music, and he wears it on his sleeve in this composition.
