“In ‘Hallaig’, in this poem, MacLean, as a Gael, stands firmly at the centre of his world, and, consciously, close to the end of his world. As a poet, he shows us that the particular horizon and times that happen to encircle him, encircle us all.”

  40. On Raasay yesterday and a close encounter with this otter. I had seen another otter just earlier from the roadside but a fair distance away. This second encounter occurred whilst walking along the shoreline. The otter was initially spotted out at sea diving and surfacing before gradually coming to the shore. Amazingly it came out on land and after giving itself a shake followed by a quick dash along the shore it headed straight back out to sea #Raasay #Hebrides #Scotland #Otter
