В прошлой статье про китайскую PlayStaion 5, я вскользь упомянул GameStick Lite - миниатюрную игровую консоль в формате "флэшки", которую можно купить всего за 1200 рублей новой . За такую скромную сумму, производитель кладет в комплект целых два беспроводных геймпада, флэшку и переходник на HDMI. Для большинства пользователей, эта консоль - самая обычная "многоигровка", на манер новодельных клонов SEGA Mega Drive и NES, однако на практике - это почти полноценный компьютер... Сегодня мы с вами разберем это чудо инженерной мысли, воссоздадим схемотехнику устройства и узнаем, что же это за диковинка такая и причём тут R36s.

Tak dlho ma @sledge spamoval s tou R36S, až som si jednu zadovážil aj ja. A pri tom, ako som sa prehrabával záplavou portov dostupných na PortMaster som objavil aj moju srdcovku, hru Zloděj!/The Clue!/Der Clou!, ktorá bola priložená ako plná hra v časopise Level 44 v septembri 1998. Po stiahnutí a spustení ma ale okamžite udrel do očí vazelínový filter (ako vedľajší efekt bilineárneho škálovania). No a tak som si povedal, že to opravím nie len pre seba, ale aj pre každého blázna, ktorý túto obskurnú hru na webe PortMaster nájde. Enjoy!

Pos nada, el Lunes toca viajecito al pueblo para el Martes llevar a la perreta al veterinario (pq mi esposa no puede) y volverme ese día.
En Tren, que no está la economía pa ese viaje en coche, aunque me gustaría.
Toca cargar la R36s y ver que puedo hacer.

Well, the iPod is officially a bust, so I must search for other avenues.
My choices of #MP3player / #DAP are then:
- Ultra low-cost machine, with quite possibly VERY crappy sound for under €40;
- Proper DAP that's over €100 with some being able to run #Rockbox as an alternative firmware. Currently eyeing the #HIFIWalkerH2.
- Weirdly enough, some retro consoles like the #R36S and its variants, which can also run Rockbox as an app.
So, Fedi, what say you on this topic? What do you suggest?

Недавно на просторах маркетплейсов появилась невиданная ранее диковинка - ретро-консоль с Linux на борту под немудреным названием R36s . На первый взгляд кажется что это очередная нонейм-консоль собранная из неликвидных комплектующих, однако при детальном рассмотрении выясняется, что это очень мощный гаджет не только для любителей ретро-игр, но и для гиков! Сейчас консоль стоит на маркетплейсах всего 1.800 рублей. Но если бы всё так было просто... 1. Copy files from the original card (games and this file: rf3536k3ka.dtb).
2. Download the `-b` variant of Rocknix: https://nightly.rocknix.org/
3. Create a bootable card.
4. Create the overlays file here: https://rocknix.gosk.in/dtbo/ (using file rf3536k3ka.dtb), select 2-sticks variant and inverted headphone detection, then follow the instruction underneath.
5. Insert the card into the device, so it can adjust partition and run initial config.

I'm almost 40 years old, and I have finally, for the first time ever, beaten Super Mario Bros. on the NES. I did use save states, because I make a lot of stupid mistakes in 2D platformers, and dying due to Mario being floaty was something that always put me off playing through multiple game overs to get to the end.
In a way I think having save states and emulators makes older games more accessible, especially for those of us who only have short play sessions available, or need special controller configurations in order to play. I'm super grateful to have those options available to me these days.

En mi pueblo se hizo la luz sobre las 23:15h. Pasamos el día con la radio📻 y la #R36S. Además de leer mucho📖y nada preocupados por la insulina que tiene que estar en frío🥺pero por suerte🍀todo bien. No abrimos la nevera para nada y así no se rompió la cadena de frío. Bon dia🌷
