Today in #AmWriting, I got started on my monthly blog post for a US-based #Quranic learning platform. All about a good #Stepmother : Asiya, the adoptive mom of #Musa (#Moses).

I started the more secular part of the writing. I don't like even to LOOK at the #Quran itself, not even online, unless I'm spiritually fit. There is a practice of purification with water called #Wudu that is encouraged for that purpose, but today I feel like I'm not in good shape even so. Tomorrow, for the rest.

Today I'm hoping to start formal study of #Quranic #Arabic vocabulary and grammar. I'll tackle the standard #Naskh script first.

It will eventually be important for me to learn #Maghribi script (used in #NorthAfrica today and #Andalucia centuries ago), because I would like to learn some of the #Qasida songs of the #Mouridiyya of #Senegal. But that will be much easier if I have words and word forms under my belt.
