#Tusky F-Droid finally has quoots and unlike the Mastodon browser interface, you can click on the number of times a post has been quoted and see all those quote posts.
(I'm slowly warming up to quotes.)

From observation it appears that each instance that shows a quote to it's users needs to request permission from the source instance. This can take a while (my instance hasn't received it yet for a quote made nearly 30mins ago). It just shows "This post is pending approval...."
This poses 2 issues that I can see at the moment
1. By the time it's approved it's out of sight/mind
2. If a popular person quotes somebody can it DDoS their instance? -
Funnily enough, a week on since Mastodon introduced quote toots and apart from a small flurry of tests at the beginning, I don't think I've seen a single actual instance of one in the wild.

The quote toot feature has reached my instance and I already hate it for the user interface.
Mostly I want to Boost, so the extra step with the Quote-but-you-can't button is just annoying.
I would have preferred to have it in the three dots extra menu.

I'm assuming not yet, as I think it would be in this section

something that wasn't clear to me and perhaps of interest to others about #quoteposts
i knew this:
in your preferences you can change the setting to allow #quoteposting on your toots globally. to anyone/ followers only/ or just yourself
but i didn't know you could also do it per post
so you might allow anyone to quote post you, as a general policy
but then on one particular post of yours you may disallow a #quotepost as you see fit
