DietPi v10.5 Updates Raspberry Pi Display and Camera Options

With #QuiteRSS broken, I've been trying out #RSSGuard today. It's actually not bad at all. In fact, I would say it's probably the best RSS reader for news and blogs.
It falls down a bit with webcomics. If you opt to just show the description of a page, it will shrink the comic image for some reason. Akregator does this as well, and it's annoying.
It does YouTube reasonably well, but you have to do an extra click to see the thumbnail, which adds friction to filtering out shorts.

#Feeder on Android. No real bells and whistles. Has some tagging and categorization. All I need.Was using #quiterss (quite nice, simple) on Linux but rarely anymore just due to my routine.

Conclusion: If you want to use a #desktop #RSS reader, you should use #QuiteRSS because it's simply the best, better than all the rest.
But keep backup your feeds before any updates, and keep #Akregator as a backup, because it works acceptably well.
Fortunately, both can import and export feeds to the same format.

Pro: Like Mary Poppins, QuiteRSS is practically perfect in every way. New items are obvious. Easy to mark multiple items simultaneously. Well able to display just the content of a page, rather than the entire page. Incompatible with many paywalls.
Con: It depends on the qt5-webkit library. As a result, if you're on a rolling release distro, QuiteRSS will occasionally break for several days after an update until its dependency is fixed upstream.

@nikodemus #QuiteRSS on #Linux - #Feeder on Android. Quite like them both.

Turns out #QuiteRSS doesn't display mastodon post images in the feed :((( Someone already created an issue for it on Github but it wasn't addressed/commented on for over a year...

So I just realized... #QuiteRSS doesn't show a full date of when a post was made. Which means no one will ever know that my website's posts come from early middle ages for organization purposes 😂

@thelinuxEXP #QuiteRSS is my #RSS feed reader of choice. I'd be lost without RSS feeds. They make the internet bearable.

It's good to see Pixelfed trending. I have written about Pixelfed on my site. I decided to try following my own Pixelfed profile via Aton Feed in the QuiteRSS feed reader to see how things look. I also thought it would be an interesting way for readers of my site who do not have Pixelfed to see our extra content and get a feel for the platform, so I turned it into a New Leaf Journal article.
