A thought:
One of the wisest #governance decisions was the separation between political roles and the civil, foreign, and military services. It allows for democratic control over the levers of power, while ensuring that said levers remain in the hands of the Adults In The Room (#QuisCustodietIpsosCustodes is laughably simplistic, but it works, somehow).
I have noticed that many areas of the private sector do not follow this, and I wonder if this is why so many CEOs act like teenage drivers?
