Mit klinischer Kühle analysiert der kafkaeske Film die seelischen Zumutungen für Asylsuchende und entlarvt die bürokratischen Prozeduren als Mechanismen der Ablehnung. Bei diesem Film geht einem schon nach kurzer Zeit das berühmte „Messer in der Tasche auf“.

Ja, man will nur das Beste in dieser so gepflegten bürgerlichen Gesellschaft. Alle „Helferinnen und Helfer“ im Film sind nett, höflich und freundlich. Aber, sie sind alle „roboterhaft“ – ja, nicht menschlich – sofern sie von Amts wegen kommen.

Alles wirkt „kühl“. Und dass man da „krank“ wird, ist fast selbstverständlich. Geholfen wird dann quasi „von unten“, nicht amtlich.

Ich erinnere mich da an den Fernsehfilm „Rosenthal“ (siehe Besprechung: Rosenthal vom 11. April 2025 auf der Homepage des „Oratorium Leipzig“) – nur ging es da um die Rettung eines Kindes im barbarischen Nazi-Reich – jetzt um die Hilfen für eine ganze Familie in einer rechtsstaatlichen bürgerlichen Gesellschaft.

Vergleiche sollte man aber ganz persönlich treffen.

Und dann erinnerte mich der ganze Film so oft an „1984“ von George Orwell: steril, technisch und ständig „im Blick“. „Quiet Life“ ist schon eine Zumutung, lohnt aber!

Also: Zwei Stunden ins Kino gehen!
