It's important to remember that gender and sexuality labels are not personalities.
There are gentle and sensitive masculine people (for example), as well as tough and coarse feminine individuals. One's sense of style can be influenced by their identities, but not necessarily ruled by them.
You have so much freedom in choosing labels. Don't let stereotypes scare you away from one that feels right.

Whoso would be a man, must be a nonconformist. He who would gather immortal palms must not be hindered by the name of goodness, but must explore if it be goodness. Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.

A quotation from Madeleine L'Engle
When I find myself hotly defending something, when I am, in fact, zealous, it is time for me to step back and examine whatever it is that has me so hot under the collar. Do I think it’s going to threaten my comfortable rut? Make me change and grow? — and growing always causes growing pains. Am I afraid to ask questions?

A quotation from Henry Commager
We cannot have a society half slave and half free; nor can we have thought half slave and half free. If we create an atmosphere in which men fear to think independently, inquire fearlessly, express themselves freely, we will in the end create the kind of society in which men no longer care to think independently or to inquire fearlessly.

The #Illusion of #News: How #Media Shapes Our #Reality
In today’s fast-paced #world, media is more powerful than ever. It’s the guiding force that shapes how we perceive the world around us—what’s right, what’s wrong, and what matters most. But is everything we see in the headlines the full #truth, or are we simply being sold a #story? Just like the world of The #Matrix, where nothing is as it seems, modern media has become a world of its own, full of illusions that bend our perception of reality.
The Power of the #Narrative
Media doesn’t just report facts—it shapes them. News outlets have the #power to edit, #frame, and present #information in a way that turns an event into a narrative. Think of how movies like #Inception warp our understanding of dreams, bending reality to their will. Similarly, the media molds #facts to fit a certain #agenda. Every #headline is carefully crafted, designed to stir #emotions, provoke #reactions, and create the perfect narrative. This ‘storytelling’ makes the complex seem simple, the chaotic seem controlled, and the dangerous seem inevitable. It’s a well-rehearsed play where the #audience never sees the strings pulling the action.
This #manipulation is subtle but powerful. It’s not enough to tell #people what’s happening—they need to feel it. It’s like the dramatic twists in Game of Thrones—when something unexpected happens, we don’t just accept it; we believe it, because the narrative has been built to make it seem inevitable.
The Danger of Simplified Truths
But what happens when we only get part of the story? When the media selectively picks what to show, the #context is lost. It’s like watching a superhero movie where we only see the final #battle, but not the years of struggle that led to it. A single image or a brief video clip can tell a thousand stories, but it’s only one piece of a much bigger picture. This selective framing means we’re often left with a warped version of reality—one that’s easier to digest but far from the truth.
Take the ongoing conflicts around the world. Media outlets constantly bombard us with images of #missiles and #destruction, but how often do we hear about the diplomats behind the scenes, working tirelessly for #peace? How many stories are ignored because they don’t fit the drama-driven narrative? The media loves the #spectacle, but the quiet moments of #diplomacy are too boring for headlines. We’ve become so used to the noise that we fail to notice the subtle hum of reason.
Critical Thinking Is the Key to Freedom
When media outlets dominate the conversation, it’s easy to forget that there are other ways to see the world. In Star Wars, the Rebellion fights against the #Empire’s narrative, which presents itself as the ultimate #authority. Similarly, we must challenge the narrative that media feeds us. If we don’t question the stories we’re told, we risk losing our ability to think critically. Like Neo in The Matrix, we have to decide whether we want to take the red pill and see the truth, or continue living in the comforting illusion created by the media.
#Freedom isn’t just about having #access to information—it’s about having the ability to interpret it for ourselves. Critical thinking is the only tool we have to cut through the noise. If we allow ourselves to passively #consume the news without #questioning its source or motives, we’re simply accepting a version of reality that has been carefully packaged for us.
Conclusion: Reclaiming Our Power
In the end, the media’s greatest trick is convincing us that their version of the world is the only one that matters. But just like in The Truman Show, we have the power to break out of the constructed reality and start questioning the world around us. We need to look beyond the headlines, challenge the narratives, and dig deeper into the stories that truly matter.
As Spider-Man teaches us, “With great power comes great responsibility.” The media has great power, but so do we. The question is: will we continue to let them #control the narrative, or will we take control of our own #understanding of the world?

Conclusion: Reclaiming Our Power
In the end, the media’s greatest trick is convincing us that their version of the world is the only one that matters. But just like in The Truman Show, we have the power to break out of the constructed reality and start questioning the world around us. We need to look beyond the headlines, challenge the narratives, and dig deeper into the stories that truly matter.
As Spider-Man teaches us, “With great power comes great responsibility.” The media has great power, but so do we. The question is: will we continue to let them #control the narrative, or will we take control of our own #understanding of the world?

Is questioning electability racism? Texas’ tense Dem primary comes to a head.

DALLAS — James Talarico is fond of saying that the “closest thing we have to the Kingdom of Heaven is a multiracial, multicultural democracy.” But Texas’ battle royale of a Democratic Senate primary feels far from heaven. Talarico, a white...

So you know how people will eat lamb and veil? Aka the baby versions of sheep and cows. Well with chickens, why do we only eat the eggs? Why are chicken nuggets made from ground up adult chickens and not young chickens? 🤔
I bring this up because where I am they are allowing companies to kill younger chickens. I think it was phrased in a way that implied more chickens could be killed and not necessarily about the age, but with what i read about the bird flu and how many chickens died from it, i doubt they have enough adult chickens too slaughter to fill the demand.
If you're wondering why I bring this up at all, its because my bf and I are really info buffalo wings, we get frozen ones to cook in the AirFryer all the time and they usually tasted amazing, perfect amount of fat, regular chicken size for the most part, and it felt and tasted like chicken with no real digestive problems.
However, nowadays the wings we've been getting are alarmingly small (these bags have a mix of wings and legs) and every piece had more fat than chicken. The flavor of the sauce tasted the same but the meat felt odd, unlike normal chicken, it makes your teeth feel weird, like oddly dry/squeeky/clean? Like its super hard to describe, and it doesnt matter if you cook it longer to the point where the outside has some char because the skin is so fatty it doesnt seem to get crispy. Like the meat doesnt even get dried out, it stays this weird slightly slimy texture, even when fully cooked.
I know its buffalo style, but buffalo sauce isnt that spicy, and doesnt usually cause me the pain that these wings were causing me after eating them this time. Like they made me go to the bathroom several times despite the meat being fully cooked. Its concerning.
Maybe this is why we dont eat young chickens. Or maybe the bird flu has something to do with it, though from what i read humans arent susceptible to it, but things like to evolve, and if bird flu can infect a cat to the point where some will die, I cant help but worry just a bit.
(Cats i think have to eat an infected bird to catch it, but dont quote me on that since i havent had a pet cat for awhile and this havent rechecked)

A quotation from Henry Commager
And as for the argument that criticism [of government foreign policy] may give aid and comfort to some enemy, that is a form of blackmail unworthy of those who profess it. If it is to be accepted, we will have an end to genuine discussion of foreign policies, for it will inevitably be invoked to stop debate and criticism whenever that debate gets acrimonious or the criticism cuts too close to the bone. And to the fevered mind of the FBI, the CIA, and some Senators, criticism always gives aid and comfort to the enemy or cuts too close to the bone.
