  5. Tubefilter: AI isn’t just changing where we search. It’s changing how we search.. “The rise of contextual answer-gatherers has led Google users to phrase their queries with more detail, and that strategy seems to be producing more accurate results.”

ChatGPT very confidently gives me obviously incorrect answers in maybe 5% of my queries.

We just had a session on how to keep it honest.

The magic: “Accuracy protocol active: classify lookup vs analysis, verify lookup claims, cite sources, label inference.”

  10. CW: Quakers and Quakerism

This morning my meeting reflected together on these topics:
How are Friends doing in light of the major changes we have experienced in 2023?
What are the big patterns and incidents that have impacted us, our country, and our community?
How have our behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs changed--about mutual aid, climate change, war, (im)migration, etc.?
What does this mean for the work of the meeting for the new year?

  11. @Researchbuzz So #Google #search *is* literally worthless to users.

"...it hadn’t even occurred to me that Google just flat out deletes #queries and replaces them with ones that #monetize better." – #MeganGray, a former #FTC official who "battled Google" in an official capacity, and executive at #DuckDuckGo, a good quality #SearchEngine alternative

It's difficult to know what to recommend; you haven't said why you want this data in an SQL database, or what the shape of the raw data is.

Is the data highly #structured, with defined #relationships and #keys? Do you need to do structured #queries using those relationships? If so, then yes, an SQL #database might be a good way to go - and it wouldn't take a lot of Python to do so.

Otherwise, it would help if you explained what the #data are, and what you're trying to do with them.

  13. “I disagree [about the ‘harsh’ part]. I’ve been an #editor since 1984, & I’ve always gotten great results from my authors by being #respectful & #thorough. In my #queries, I explain why something needs to be changed, & all of my authors find that helpful.” [2/5]

  14. Keep your in check with v5.4's latest addition: a statement_timeout session and cluster setting! ⏲️

You can now set a timeout for your queries, ensuring they don't outstay their welcome. No more endless waits, hello efficiency in management!⏳

  15. Recently I have to increase the FTL's query Rate-Limit on my pi hole, because I got this warring a lot lately "Maximum number of concurrent DNS queries reached (max: 150)" on my pi hole's dashboard admin interface under Pi-hole diagnosis. In the settings of my pi hole's the rate-limit was the default setting of 1000 queries in 60 seconds, I decided to increase the number of queries to 100000, but I left the seconds as it was by default.

  17. If your company site or #SaaS runs in the #cloud, your servers have usage data to #analyse.

(Tips: Ask a dev to help with #queries. Ensure your Ts&Cs cover such data use.)

For example, I noticed users created a new record, then immediately, repeatedly edit it. Difficulty creating correct records in one go is a #usability flaw! We set out to #design better UI that lowered errors, after which the #data showed me a huge increase in first-try success.
