It’s definitely not unusual to make a bit of small talk on a flight, especially if it’s this long, so I didn’t think much of it. That is, until he looked at my boyfriend and asked whether it was only me and my “friend” for this trip.

I danced with a man, as a woman.
I let him lead and it felt wonderful.
It was a waltz, a totally #LGBTQ waltz. He was #gay, and I was a #transgender woman, but a gentleman asked a lady to dance and so we did.
