I wrote about victim-blaming, the strange conservative habit of experiencing queer existence as an attack, and that beautifully imaginary golden age when queer people were supposedly accepted right up until we became “too visible”.

Spoiler: that golden age never existed. It was mostly just silence, discrimination, and better camouflage.
