The incidents of violence and hatred are painful, infuriating and leave many of us feeling exhausted or traumatised.
But we don’t have to face this pain alone.
At the same time, Berlin is facing a crucial choice about what sort of city we want to live in in the future.
For our next reading event, we therefore want to move away from a sense of powerlessness and towards open dialogue.
We are dedicating the evening to writing as a form of coping, resistance and raising awareness.
We’re calling on you: share your writing with us!
What’s it about? Your perspectives on CSD, violence against queer people, vulnerability and healing. But also about how we stand up for ourselves as a community, how we look out for one another, and what demands we’re making of Berlin’s politicians in the run-up to the election.
Who can take part? Anyone who writes – whether you’re an experienced stage writer, a debutant, or someone writing down your thoughts for the very first time.
Whether angry, tender, poetic or analytical: there’s room for everything.
Short essays or statements for discussion are also welcome.
Afterwards, we’ll be watching two films about queer uprisings:
“Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton’s Cafeteria” and “Stonewall Forever”.

Wir widmen den Abend dem Schreiben als Form der Bewältigung, des Widerstands und der Sichtbarmachung.
