Watched both versions of Quatermass II. I definitely prefer the BBC version. The pacing of the movie is weird. The slower pace of the original meant you really learned and gathers evidence along the way. In the movie Quatermass explains a lot of things he couldn’t really know. And Hammer Quatermass does feel more like a detective than a scientist.
Both are enjoyable watches though.

I definitely can see how Professor Quatermass is a proto Doctor figure. Wandering around investigating and bumping up against authority.
Hell, this feels a lot like the beginning of the Invasion.
