  2. @Taweret Alright! Let's do for #Quatermass what we did for Critters! Except, you know, Quatermass is actually good…

  3. I'm having a bathroom fitted, which is noisy chaos, so I've been hiding in the sitting room re-watching #Quatermass And The Pit, with headphones on. I'm sure many have already noticed this but when the missile's glowing, the roundels inside look just like the Tardis interior. #DrWho #DoctorWho

  4. Finished #Quatermass and the Pit.

On the one hand, the first five episodes are a slow build. At its heart, it’s an archeological mystery. So the cliffhanger for the first few episodes are new discoveries.

But for 1959 British #TV, the finale is very remarkable. With limited special effects and mostly live performances, they manage to make the scope of the growing disaster feel larger than they could possibly show.

I can see why this had a profound effect on audiences and future film makers.

  5. In my weird desire to make a set of playmobil doctor who's one of the sticking points has always been the fifth doctor, and I just typed in "playmobil cricket outfit" and got this...

And all I can think is one of the martians from Quatermass and the Pit survived secretly ... crawled out the back of the dig area and ran away into 1950s London to become a concert pianist.

  7. #StandingStoneSunday Here’s shot of the assembled masses on an Andy Collins walking tour of #Avebury. Andy is a top man and also expert on all things #neolithic
This scene reminds me a little of the hippy gatherings at stone circles in the Sir John Mills #Quatermass series if any of you remember that? I’m happy to say no one was harvested during Andy’s tour.
