I once hiked out a beautiful specimen of #Kyanite in #Quartzite froms Brown's peak in Wyoming. It was probably a 10 kg piece. I had it for years - it was my favorite Kyanite specimen. Then one day someone stole it off my porch. I will never forgive that thief, and I only hope that they appreicate it as much as I did.

Titanic/Avatar director James #Cameron and his wife, Suzy Amis Cameron, have listed their #Hollister #Ranch compound at 89 Hollister Ranch Road ($33 million).
According to the Wall Street Journal, “after buying the house [for $4.375 million in the late 1990s], they spent a year remodeling it […] installing #quartzite flooring and restoring the original, #natural #woods, which had been stained and painted.
‘The previous owner had had a lot of #marble,’ the director said. ‘We brought it back down to something that felt connected to the land.'”

It is an iconic 645 square kilometre wilderness park that showcases the wild Georgian Bay coast of pink #granite and the La Cloche mountains white #quartzite ridges.
