As Captain Zeeno (a Chitza scout ship commander) might say, "Aw hell, even an asteroid miner can pop off a few 4-D bubbles. Purple, pink, violet... fuchsia. Naw, we don't mess with that crap. Quality 4-D is always magenta. Solid. Stable. Lasts a long time."

Important stuff to remember for intergalactic travel. It's also the answer to a question I asked a few days ago. In the #QuantumSeries, bubbles of four-dimensional space come in multiple colors, from dark purples to hot pinks (see Quantum Void). But magenta is special, reflecting a fine tuning of dimensional technology. Surprisingly, magenta also appears in nature. Check out this photo of the Trifid Nebula embedded into the Scutum-Centaurus arm, 1.3 kiloparsecs from Earth (we view it in the constellation Sagittarius). Maybe we should go there and find out what's going on?

In 2017, Quantum Space kicked off the #QuantumSeries (and a whole new career for me!) Six novels later, I feel honored to have connected to more than 250,000 hard sci-fi readers. The numbers are still mind boggling! I had no idea so many would enjoy my stories.

My original cover artist has left the business and with a new book coming out this summer, I've decided to start fresh and update ALL of the covers in the series. My new artist, Dane Low, will be hammering them out one at a time over the next few months.

Here's the first, hot off the drawing board. What do you think?

My writing process is weird compared to other authors I know.
1. Concept
2. Premise
3. Story sketch
4. Chapter outline
5. 1st draft
6. 2nd draft, critique ready
7. 3rd draft, post crits
...
For Quantum Chaos, I'm at steps 5, 6, 7, but early chapters are step 7, later chapters at step 5. It feels like guiding a group of kindergarten kids up a rising escalator where I keep running down to lower steps to assist some kid tying his shoes and hoping everyone eventually gets to the top!
