One of the better cuts from Quadrophenia; I remember getting a call one night during my airshift at the first radio gig and I received a phone call from a lady who asked me how I could play a song that mentions “girls of 15 sexually knowing.” Apparently, she’d never listened before when I’d play stuff like AC/DC’s “Walk Over You” off of “Highway To Hell.” “Ma’am,” I said, “No one is forcing anyone to listen.” She hung up.

My late older brother, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2022, was THE ultimate Who fan; saw them at least five times including the final tour with Keith Moon. He would crank the living FUCK outta this one, prompting my dad to yell upstairs “TURN THAT SHIT DOWN!” on more than one occasion. 😁 Now on deck, I’m crankin the FUCK out of it because, well, I fuckin can! Well, that and the bourbon is kinda tasty.

I went to see Quadrophenia - A Mod Ballet tonight. I thought it was brilliant.
Excellent music - not the Who, of course, and no words, but a rearrangement Pete Townsend's tunes (which I've been listening to for over fifty years). Excellent set design and wonderful choreography.
The whole thing worked. It got a standing ovation, including from me!
It's touring. If you like the Who and ballet, go and see it!

I just got back from a contemporary #ballet performance of the #RockOpera #Quadrophenia, which was originally written by #PeteTownshend of #TheWho. It was performed at the #TheatreRoyalPlymouth and I have to say it was wonderful. The music is an #instrumental retelling of the original album and follows it almost exactly, with a few extras thrown in for good measure.
