Working on my Rust course, and of course the first challenge wasn't Rust. It was my old TeX setup.
I may be a bit old-school, but TeX/Beamer is still my go-to for slides. I'm using Nix to pin down the environment and keep it reproducible.
My old setup no longer played nicely with Arch Linux's Fontconfig. The fix was shipping an isolated fonts.conf and the required fonts.
I also got a unified Qt look again with Kvantum.

My subtitle editor is now on PyPI.

It requires MKVToolNix for reading media files, and Tesseract OCR for OCR scanning. These applications need to be callable from the command line. I plan to make this configurable later.

My subtitle editor is now on PyPI.

It is very much in an alpha state, but I've used it quite a bit to convert Bluray subtitles to SRT (text) files for use with Plex. It requires MKVToolNix for reading media files, and Tesseract OCR for OCR scanning. These applications need to be callable from the command line. I plan to make this configurable later.

I'm disappointed, as a (primarily KDE Plasma) user, that #BudgieDesktop has decided to go with #qt6 over #EFL. What could they bring that #KDEplasma and #LXQt don't already?
There's also: Deepin, UKUI, SailfishOS, Lumina (I liked this one), Trinity DE (used to like it!), others possibly.
#EnlightenmentDE & #MokshaDE are great and they're the only ones -- nearly identical -- that are built upon EFL. It would've been really cool to see/use something quite a bit different built using those famously light foundations. It would add more diversity and perhaps the two smaller projects could provide more for one another in the long run.

🚀 quickshell-polkit-agent v2.0.0 is out!
Major architectural overhaul: switched from proactive FIDO detection to a PAM-reactive model. The agent now responds to PAM prompts instead of trying to control auth flow.
✨ What's new:
• GDM-inspired authentication state machine
• 22 integration tests with 100% pass rate
• Podman-based E2E testing infrastructure
• Rich error handling & state tracking APIs
• Performance optimizations (<2ms state transitions)
🔧 Breaking changes:
• Removed auto-FIDO logic (now handled by PAM/pam_u2f)
• Simplified state machine (no more TRYING_FIDO states)

Руководство по сборке Qt под Windows из исходников с MinGW
Официальный способ установки готовых бинарников Qt - через онлайн инсталлятор. Однако он требует обязательной регистрации. Да еще и недоступен на территории РФ. Есть и другие способы получить бинарники, или собрать с компилятором от Microsoft , однако не всегда эти способы приемлемы. Сборка из исходников под Windows может оказаться несколько нетривиальна для новичков, потому сделал небольшую инструкцию по сборке Qt 5 и Qt 6. А так же рассмотрена базовая настройка QT Creator.
