#SSB on the #QRPLabs #QMX+ 5W HF transceiver is just so unnecessarily painful. The built-in microphone doesn't work. Standard microphones don't work.
The very specific microphone capsule required goes for 21 € inc. shipping from Digikey. A finished microphone assembly by G7UFO is 41,85 € inc. shipping. The whole QMX+ kit is only 125 USD, on comparison.
I have revision 4 of the PCB. Really would have expected it to have been fixed to take any microphone by now, or come with the microphone.

After building the #QRPLabs QMX+ transceiver I got a bit into #WSPR, #FT8 and #FT4 to see how far 3 to 5 Watts can get me.
There's not much else in the #hamradio world that puzzles me as much as the lack of support for compund or special callsigns in these modes. On one instance I couldn't make an FT8 call from my station EA8/DC6ST to a Russian ham visiting Belarus because the two compound callsigns did not leave any space for signal reports or even a "73" in the message.

During this morning's #parksontheair #pota activation I'm throwing this 9v/200mAh #QRPp fishing lure into the ionospheric waters to see what I can reel in. #amateurradio #hamradio CW #morsecode

I built a #QRPGuys 40-10 #Minituner a few years ago but never built a wire for it. Thanks to current #Geomagneticstorm conditions, I built a 40 -15 Meter Linked #EFHW that I can use with my #Youkits #YouKitsHB1B #HB1B and my #QRPlabs #QDX. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio is so much fun!

If your #QCX mini (like mine) is suffering from #hf getting back into the rig via the headphone cable when in very close proximity to an unbalanced antenna I suggest you try to solder a 10 nF capacitor across the audio jack on the bottom side of the main board. This solved the problem for me. For more troubleshooting tips see https://qrp-labs.com/qcxmini/moretrouble.html#sF #HamRadio #Amateurfunk #qrp #soldering #qrplabs #qcxmini

Anyone in my connections/on "close" servers playing with #QRPLabs #HamRadio kits?
#WSPR? #FT8 and other #DigitalHamRadio modes?

All the smoke stayed in the QDX! If only I had an antenna at home to test it out.
I had to get a little creative for the case. #HamRadio #kitbuilding #qrplabs #QDX #workbench #qrp

Received a QRP-labs QDX kit for Christmas, and sitting down to start on it. So far I've sorted parts and started winding the toroids.
I'm going to build it for 12v, and 80/60/40/30/20 operation. I can always rewind a couple of toroids if I want to change it up later.
