#qoto is dead, and I wasn't able to get an export more recent than a few months ago. Which should have been a clue.
Anyway.
#selfhosting for the win, #gotosocial was fairly straight forward, compared to #mastodon prime probably a lot more light weight too. -

@freeschool Hi, thanks for the ping! I don't intend to leave #qoto, but I've certainly been less active. Partly because I've been on BlueSky instead, but even there I'm not very active, I've just reduced this style of social media use in general.
It might help if the qoto client were a bit more stable :) I still get 500-storms and random failures (like my profile not showing any of my posts).
And, thinking about it, most of what I (re)post on BlueSky is about how awful US politics currently is, and I feel like the Fediverse in general tries to be about other things (can't blame it!).

If I try to migrate my account from #QOTO what is the likelihood it will be successful? Have you recently tried this and has it worked for you?

@ex @silverpill #qoto is a clusterfuck and its random issues are impossible to understand from the user perspective, that's my main reason moving to self-hosting mitra.

@ex @wonderfox @rf Педерация твой предыдущий камент ко мне припедерировала, но нотификашку не присрала, а этот даже не припедерировала, я увидел его только в вебне fluffyfox.space, пиздос (по прямой ссылке вбитой в поиск припедерировала). Потом ещё вебня ебала мозги фирменным #qoto 'вским "Rate limited Please retry after 04:55".
За десятилетия прыщинга у меня вроде ни разу не случалось такого чтобы апдейт прям ломал систему. Худшее что было - забагованная mesa, из-за которой иксы (точнее, драйвер modesetting) не работали, откатил. Ну и в ядре баги по мелочам встречались, сейчас уже и не припомню их. Но я сижу на нестабильной ветке Gentoo, если бы на стабильной сидел, проблем было бы меньше.
Конкретно та беда с китайцем и xz это не причина не обновляться, это причина сидеть на более проверяемой-выдержанной версии дистрибутива, с оперативными security апдейтами которые ты оперативно накатываешь чтобы не сидеть голой дырявой жопой в интернет.

@johan @rf @rur @Russia @russian_mastodon Я уже перестал чёт понимать, у меня регулярно куда-то не педерируются каменты, и хрен знает как выяснить почему, грешу на гнилой старый mastodon #qoto но видимо не только на нём такое. Вот педеративный e-mail хотя бы баунсы шлёт когда не может доставить письмо!

@johan @ex @darkcat09 Меня уже доебало что #qoto хаотично меня банит на пять минут за превышение rate limit просто потому что я вебню открыл или поскроллил посты.

sometimes I get a 'edited a post' notification from things I've reposted, and it's always the same post, but there are no modifications...
This is frustrating, and drives me to un-repost it.
Does it happen to you too with some posts?

FYI, QOTO will be going down in about an hour (2pm EST) for about 30 minutes for an update.

#QOTO: profile page not loading, just a string of 500 error messages in its place. Anyone else having the same problem?

#QOTO: are you getting multiple 500 error messages when trying to boost or toot or follow accounts?

#QOTO users: are you receiving notifications when a toot you have boosted in the past has been edited? Also, are the toots in your timeline being displayed in a chronological order or being repeated multiple times?

#QOTO: since the new update, I have noticed there is a new auto-delete feature. Are there any other features that I may have missed?

Is there is a way to follow hashtags without having to go to the preference page and manually inputting them?
