@robs Max Chandler-Mather was elected on Liberal preferences. The Liberal vote sank and so did his chances. It’s a loss for the community in Griffith. He’s been a very active member. I can’t see the new Labor member giving up a portion of their salary to fund school breakfasts and community events.

My three thoughts:
1. (Said this before, but) Palaszczuk should have stood-down much earlier, to give the next Labor leader more time to push reforms and make their mark before the next election.
2. Miles should have implemented more policies that focused more on ‘grassroots’, public servants and SMBs rather than big corporations. (Differentiating himself from Palaszczuk.)

- Labor, still unable to get over their hatred of the Greens fights the Greens instead of the Libs; well-played, dickheads
- a reactionary numpty from the desert gets taken seriously rather than scorned because he wants to control women's bodies and thinks this US-import of a policy position has legs
- Labor, as ever, talks about good things, but does so few of them in any meaningful way in government, that they manage to lose the election; it is a truth in Australian politics that incumbents lose by being hopeless rather than oppositions win by being a compelling alternative (watch the same thing happen at the federal election next year)Welcome to Joh’s/Campbell’s Queensland take... 3? The next 4 years will be a whole thing.

I refuse to read or consume Murdoch, Stokes, Nine, including all the youth news websites, so I miss a lot of the basic local reportage that Murdoch still does.
