Anyone have good success running #macOS inside a #vm on non-apple hardware?

It's upgrade time for a PC at the theatre, which *has* to be a mac to support the industry standard show player #QLab.

I really do not want to give apple a penny and will overspend on an AMD based solution if need be.

Gimme some good news, fedi!

It’s always fascinating to me how folks use the same software in different ways - I’m a great fan of keeping all my notes in #QLab so I barely need to reference the script once I’m into season, which comes from doing complex shows where sometimes you just don’t have enough hands to operate & turn pages!!

I'm #queer and #trans, a software dev with Figure 53 (makers of #QLab) and an instructor in #FilmMusic at USC.

I'm technically a classically trained oboist and composer, although I haven't put either into practice much since the pandemic. I'm also an occasional knitter and baker, but I spend more time doing peritoneal #dialysis for kidney failure.
