One year and a day ago I lost my best buddy. For 18 years and seven months, he was my best non-human friend. I thank him for all the hard cat work he did, and all the wonderful shoulder loving. I miss him so much.

No longer with us and I'll always miss him.
Whenever I was having a hard time he'd crawl up on my shoulder and sleep.
Always made me feel better.
Now at least I have that memory.

Saw a very happy, tail straight up barn cat quickly crossing a country road from a red barn to a green wood in Wisconsin -- a mouse in it's mouth. That's a barn cat!

This website helped more than I thought it would. Losing a dog and a cat in the space of 5 months has been hard. They were old, had a good 15 years dog life and a good 18 years and 7 months cat life, so it wasn't unexpected but it still hurts so much.
And grief pulls in other sadness, like me missing another cat who passed that I never met except online.

My cat who passed recently, he loved jazz music. The first cat who chose me decades ago, she loved the blues.
Our current dog and the one who passed a few months ago, love(ed) to hear people talking. PBS Create shows, especially cooking shows, were the preference when we could get them. Old Star Trek and Star Trek:The Next Generation on LG free TV too.

Goodbye, Buddy. You were my best non-human male friend for almost 19 years, my Hooey 🐈 cat.
You slept between my left arm and body as a kitten and your final sleep as a cat was the same place.
I'm going to miss you so much.

My best non-human friend Hooey cat doesn't have much longer. 18 years and 7 months. I know he's had a very good 🐈 cat life, so there's that at least. Losing my Antimony cat can still tear me up thinking about her, and that's been over 20 years ago.
We have a vet that will come out to help ease his suffering (travel not an option). They had told us 2 to 3 days for his EOL appointment, but now they're so busy it's closer to 3 weeks.

First time this 18 year old cat has ever done this.
My first cat slept with me like this *all* the time, usually with front paws touching my right shoulder and rear paws touching my left shoulder.
