  1. Od kilku dni muzyki słucham tylko i wyłącznie w Bowers & Wilkins Px8, które już gościły na naszych łamach od dłuższego czasu. Trafiły do sprzedaży półtora roku temu i dzisiaj żałuję, że nie miałem okazji ich przesłuchać wcześniej. Pozostaje mi zatem nadrobić stracony czas…

    Na wstępie od razu zaproszę do obejrzenia wideorecenzji tych słuchawek, którą znajdziecie na naszym kanale YouTube – tam zawarłem wszystkie najważniejsze dla mnie ich cechy, w tym specyfikację, moje wrażenia i wiele więcej.

    Otrzymałem od Was jednak sporo pytań o to, jak porównują się bezpośrednio z AirPods Max. Większości chodzi oczywiście o samo audio – czy lepiej grają? Zanim odpowiem na to pytanie (odpowiedziałem już na nie w wideo), to jeszcze zwrócę uwagę na kilka unikalnych cech AirPods Maxów.

    Maxy automatycznie parują się ze wszystkimi naszymi urządzeniami, w tym iPhone’ami, iPadami, Apple TV, Macami i więcej. To oznacza, że nie trzeba się przepinać, co zwiększa komfort dla osób, które potrzebują to często robić z jakiegoś powodu.

    AirPods Max mają też najlepszy na rynku tryb transparency – można zapomnieć, że mamy na głowie słuchawki. Px8 tutaj są niestety gorsze, ale przecież nie samym transparency, co B&W nazywa trybem pass-through, człowiek żyje.

    B&W Px8 mają 24-bitowy DAC, który wspiera odtwarzanie muzyki wysokiej rozdzielczości do 24-bit i 48 kHz. To oznacza, że jeśli korzystacie z serwisu oferującego takową muzykę, to tutaj możecie rzeczywiście ten fakt wykorzystać. Ten temat poruszam szerzej w wideo. Nawet kabel jest w komplecie! Wróć, dwa! Apple każe sobie za takowe płacić i to słono.

    B&W wspiera m.in. standard aptX Adaptive dla Bluetooth, jeśli preferujecie łączenie bezprzewodowe. Gorąco taki setup polecam, z obowiązkową korektą EQ w aplikacji B&W o +1 dla tonów wysokich i -1 dla basów – ten setup ożywia tony wysokie, a bas mniej miesza w średnich. Od razu podpowiem, że basy są też sporo mocniejsze domyślnie niż w Maxach, więc i tak będziecie do przodu.

    Więc jak?

    Tak, Px8 grają lepiej od AirPods Max. Warunek jest jedynie taki, że nie słuchacie tych pierwszych bardzo cicho – tracą one wtedy swój wigor i wydają się być znudzone. Osobiście mi to nie grozi, wręcz odwrotnie.

  3. Not so easy at all. I started with a MicroSD reader for the #EPSON #PX8 #Geneva yesterday. Unfortunately with soldering. Because it does not work and I got BDOS errors I rebuild all on a breadboard today morning. And tried a normal card reader additionally. Seems they are very sensitive with the VCC voltage. With undervolting nothing works. Directly from the accu with ~4V everything works fine.

  43. The #Epson #PX8 seems to have trouble with it's voltage regulator after resoldering the elec.caps. 6V is unfine for the 5V line and the display don't get it's high voltage. Now it beep all lines in this area for potentially shorts or cuts.

    I should often observe: "Never change a running system".
