Arthur Hildersham, Puritan minister, writes on Psalm 51, and those whose heart has not been renewed. Some comfortably rich people bequeath nothing to the poor. They can’t use this weatlh any longer. It’s the sin and shame of his age.
Would any of this fly today, claiming that this were a sin, that it was prevalent, that it was the job of the church to meddle in this way?
