George Phillips, #Puritan, on the rich man in Luke 16:19-31. “Graceless” persons presume that the needy are naughty. Which would make Jesus, with nowhere to lay his head, one of the naughty, as well.
There’s a link between receiving (spiritual) grace and demonstrating (physical) grace to the needy here.
Today, would we reserve the label of “graceless” for those who would urge a better care for the needy?
