Here's what happened since my last post. Trevor got adopted late 2024 by a wonderful person with a large extended family nearby. I've enjoyed updates from them, Trevor was allowed to go at his own pace and the typical loving CKCS temperment replaced the shy frightened one I picked up. Trevor is all healed up post surgery. I'm very happy to say Trevor came thru surgery w/o issues and is recovering nicely. He is noticeably happier, taking kibble and treats eagerly from his neighborhood fans. It's like he never had surgery and teeth pulled. Today is Trevors surgery, a big step towards adoption. The doctor called, he's doing fine but 9 teeth fell out during the cleaning and he needs a total of 14 or 15 removed 😳. It'll be tough but it's been a long time coming and he'll be so much more comfortable. A quick Trevor update,4 dogs keep me busy.Trevor's doing well.I'm still handfeeding him,but now from SS bowl.He's much more social and comes for snuggles.He's walking with everyone going visiting.He's slowly peeing normally,not hunched over.He's stretching out and not peeing on his front legs!

Been struggling to get Trevor to eat.Turns out he doesn't like lamb!Thawed some ground turkey and beef for him,he plowed thru that and burped.I get ground meats from https://www.rawdeliverymn.com/ and last weeks flavor was lamb.Kinda highbrow,I feed cheaper mixes but allways throw in a special treat each order.Not this one!

Along with Trevors 4wk checkin.This morning he came up to me,looked right at me and asked for scratchies.This might seem unremarkable,but for a puppymill dog that is a huge step.He still only eats if handfed,but he does take the first few bites next to the others.He still manages to pee on his front legs.He still startles easily.He's perfect

Trevors 4wk check in.We had a week of 1st's!He's starting to walk short distances outside;not darting from one spot to the next;fully erect bounce in his step tail high and nose to the ground.He's discovered toys and is making up for lost time.He's still very self concious,he still only eats if hand fed.

Trevor has been with me 3 weeks now. He's finally interested in eating, he's taking up to 3.5oz twice daily. I still have to hand feed him, he acts like the food bowl is a trap. We start out with the others, but have to move further away to finish, he's that shy. Full bellies = happy sleepy dog 🥰

This looks unremarkable, in fact a crappy pic. However this made my year! Trevor came over on his own, laid down next to me and snuggled in. From being so shutdown he wouldn't look at me and would flinch from touch, to seeking out human contact in a few short weeks. That means I can help this one.
