¿Por qué pagamos por ropa que parece basura?
El origen de los jeans rotos no tiene nada que ver con las pasarelas de Milán y mucho con la rabia de los años 70. Todo comenzó con el movimiento punk, donde figuras como Richard Hell y bandas como los Sex Pistols empezaron a rasgar su ropa como un acto de rebeldía absoluta contra el consumismo y la perfección de la clase media. En ese entonces, un pantalón roto era una cicatriz social: significaba que eras pobre, peligroso o que simplemente detestabas las reglas. Lo irónico es que la industria de la moda detectó ese "look" de resistencia y lo masticó hasta convertirlo en un producto de lujo y parte del mainstream. Hoy, las tiendas departamentales venden jeans rotos artificialmente por tres veces su valor original, vendiéndole a la gente una estética de "rebelde de barrio" empaquetada con etiqueta de diseñador.

watched CBGB, about Hilly Kristal and the seminal New York venue ~ the soundtrack of original recordings is fantastic but, chronologically speaking, the songs, tees, flyers and posters are all over the place!
