Some more pictures from the first day of the #VCFe 24 in #Munich:
A #punchtape reader (and puncher).
A #Mega65 running #ManiacMansion based on IIRC the Amiga graphics and the C64 sound of the game. I by chance wore the appropriate t-shirt, albeit in the German localization.
And I'm still not sure after which related game -- Maniac Mansion or Day of The Tentacle -- the t-shirt is actually modeled after as the verbs don't match as well as I expected.

When starting machine translation, we assumed ASCII encoding, but discovered a different system. Seeking help on social media, our followers cracked the code in under 24 hours, revealing the use of an IBM Supertyper 8500 punch and BCDIC. 🕵️♂️🔍 Thanks to them, we found the decoding table in the IBM 1620 computer manual. 🙌🔠
