The author of that post seems unaware of two crucial points:Originally, the #ACA was supposed to include A Public Option, allowing anyone to buy into Medicare. This would have both controlled costs AND allowed you to "keep your doctor" as promised.
But the 60th vote was ConservaDem Joe Liebermann who told #Obama:
"Remove the #PublicOption or I'm voting No with the #GOP."
The "Mandate" was then the only mechanism left to control costs. The RW #SCotUS stripped that out too.
