the proposed changes to Section 106 would directly and severely harm Native people, who already have way too little voice in how their aboriginal lands are treated, and have already lost too much. As an anthropologist I see this up close, fighting every year to keep destructive projects from doing irreparable harm to cultural places. We make this fight with law, and Section 106 is one of very, very few protections we have to stand on. Please believe me when I say we have to stop this one.
