After attending #PubConf2025 yesterday, I chatted with a friend that expressed wanting to get of Instagram.
They have been intrigued by me saying, that #Mastodon always has been a pretty #queer space.
Now I’m looking for the right #instance to recommend. But the choices are overwhelming.Where would a queer, #feminist, intellectual, English language #writer, #educator in arts, secular Jewish, pro Palestinian, gen-X person feel at home?

Today on our way back from #PubConf2025 we saw this sign on the Just Eat Takeaway building. They really want you to know their office building is nót a boat. Or that boats are not allowed to enter 🚢🤣.

I signed up to do a lightning talk at today's PublicSpaces 2025 conference then learned that *all* the others had slides and prepared presentations.
I winged it but I am afraid to see any recording if it exists.
All in all it was a great conference!

I had the BEST time today at #PubConf2025. It was really inspiring and energizing to connect face-to-face with people championing the Fediverse and working tirelessly to create better online spaces - away from Big Tech’s closed silos.
It was also SUPER COOL to meet IRL people I had been corresponding with online. Thanks for coming up to say hi :)

It’s a wrap! Dit was de vijfde editie van de PublicSpaces conferentie, met dit jaar als thema Shaping our Digital Future. Over deze digitale toekomst hebben we ons gebogen in panels, keynotes en workshops over ethische AI, permacomputing, de nieuwe civic socials en meer!
Heel erg bedankt voor jullie komst, jullie enthousiasme en jullie input.
Geïnspireerd gaan we ons weekend in - hopelijk zien we jullie volgend jaar weer!

Onder het motto van laaghangend fruit: Zojuist op de #publicspaces conferentie bij een sessie over “break out of the lock in” verwezen naar @zwartboekaanbesteden waar te zien is hoe overheden nog steeds bewust en in strijd met de wetgeving kiezen voor een (nieuwe) lock-in. Laten we daar eens beginnen en in aanbestedingen mogelijke alternatieven niet direct gaan uitsluiten. #PubConf2025
