Guidraco venator (gway-dray-koh ven-ate-or) was an #anhanguerid #pterosaur from the early Cretaceous of China. Its name refers to the Chinese term “gui”, meaning “ghost”, and the Latin word “draco” meaning “dragon”. Its specific name is the Latin word for “hunter”.

This weeks #Lego #FossilFriday is #Pteranodon
Pteranodon was found in 1871 by Othniel Charles Marsh, making it the first pterosaur found outside of Europe.
Originally Marsh called it Pterodactylus oweni, assigning it to the well know, but far smaller, species from Europe.
The issue is that name was already used in 1864, marsh renamed it Pterodactylus occidentalis.
Cope found several specimens around that time and named the Ornithochirus.

Noiw we flip over to the "bad guy" crashed ship. And they landed in villain volcano. And shock horror gasp, they are surrounded by meat eating dinosaurs.
Bad guy decides hes going to make an army of dinosaurs to attach the good guys with. We see what looks like an oversized #Deinonychus, #Pteranodon, and Triceratops.

Something a bit different for this #PterosaurPtuesday, my skeletal of #Pteranodon.
This is fairly old now, and people may disagree with the way the wing membrane attaches to the leg, but it's one the most comprehensive and accurate skeletals I've done.

3.5 years ago, when I served my mandatory army service, I worked on a drawing about the compilation of representative #pterosaur members. After I was discharged from the army, on 2020 April, I finished a bigger drawing based on the unfinished sketch from the army.
