40 years ago this week, "Pretty In Pink" by #PsychedelicFurs entered the #Top100 at 90. It peaked at 41 on 31 May 1986. I didn't know that the film was named after the song, not vice versa. You've probably heard that the film originally ended with Andie and Duckie getting together, and was reshot after test audiences booed.
