Trying 3 stripes of mustard in coral at start of final solid section. There will be 2x more depth in solid coral to follow + scalloped garter edge.

It feels too dense or yellow something? Maybe will read better when larger coral-only segment is done? Add some white to visually connect it better to upper two sections? Frog?

Don't know. Would love feedback!

Maybe a lace with a less traditional lace look? Like the one @Lavisch used on her just-launched #PsychedelicaKAL shawl pattern (which I'm making).

This reads more like a texture. And people seem to like to riff on it. Check out these interpretations. It's been a super-fun de-stressing knit!

Okey dokey, Knitterati ~ Another tweak to Susanne's fun design, #PsychedelicaKAL...

Kept to her striped approach through crazy section but changed color from coral to mustard. Then, back to coral for final solid portion, throwing in some mustard stripes.

Enjoying how these colors look side by side, w/out white. Also liking weight of denser fabric at base of shawl - feels quite stabilizing to a slinky knit. Fun!

101 grams now 79 grams of coral after 6 rows equals 3.6 grams per row, 7.2 per back-forth stripe so if I do 4 stripes of coral between 5 stripes of mustard 7.2 times 8 or 4 rows equals 28.8 grams leaving 50.2 grams which would net out 6.9 2-row stripes including garter border. Maybe. IDK!

Gosh, rusty at math! Every time I get to end of knitter math I have a brain seize-up, for reals. Lordy.

🧶 Wound 2nd skein coral Linea Pura Unico for 3rd/final section.

🧶 Weighed on 'drug scale,' did knitter math. Want final section bigger than mustard section.

🧶 Left over mustard will be 4-5 stripes added to solid coral - wondering how those 2 will play together, side by side?

The crazy section of #PsychedelicaKAL now... I'm enchanted with what is emerging. It 'slithers' through the hands, with hypnotic drape and movement. Cool and airy to the touch.

Stretched out here to see the pattern - Linen and bamboo in mixed weights of DK and lace. Eight more rows, then it's on to the wide stockinette scalloped border. Wonder how wide it is now?

@apples_and_pears Maybe some sort of loose tab to secure the sides? And so the air can still blow through. This is so interesting toe!

Linen might also work for your concept - tough as nails and it wicks ~20% of heat away from the body, just by being there.

I'm working on a linen shawl now, I call it my "cooling shawl" bc that is it's purpose. My fave brand is Euroflax, long-line linen from Belgium. Here's my shawl in progress:

It's been days of reorg after being in hospital 34 of last 50 days. That was a completely unexpected detour and backslide. I always forget that healing is not a straight line. Ever. It's all good!

Well crap, my Knitterati friends... I forgot. Was gonna make crazy section of #PsychedelicaKAL in solid mustard yellow. But then...

Stuff happened & was distressed, fatigued, went deep into solace of knit & purl. Then! I forgot, made 1st 2 rows of crazy section in white. So...

Un-knit? Keep going, hope eye won't pick up flaw at transition? Stick with mustard and white stripes? I'd love advice!

Q for @LaVisch on repeats for crazy section of #PsychedelicaKAL -- Since I made many more rows of stitches for striped part, is this correct math for row 1?

* 4 stitches on needle to start + 1 m1tbl = 5 stitches
* next, repeat sections of 8 stitches, until 1 stitch before center marker
* then 3 stitches on needle + 2 m1tbl = 5 stitches in middle
* then a bunch more repeats of 8 stitches
* then the end of 4 stitches + m1tbl = 5 stitches

Do I have that right? Thank you!

I am declaring a pre-KAL success... Only knit four more rows on #PsychedelicaKAL, but laid this puppy out good and flat for a better sense of size.

Today I plan to use up coral ball #1, and tomorrow (maybe) I get discharged back to the rehab, where I can make a ball and start the crazy section with the mustard one. Oh the thrill!

Finally have some time to block the #PsychedelicaKal #knitting

I tried opening the lace-crazy part a lot, but keeping the stripe stockinette section more closed.

Wingspan around 180cm, perfect! Glad I added more stripes and more of the crazy pattern as well, now the length is what I prefer.

Excited to have finished this!

#PsychedelicaKAL is growing! It is still so airy, lightweight, drapey. I'm loving where this is going.

It should come out at about 80"-100" across, which is my favorite size because it's big, and I'm big, and it doesn't look like a dumb-ass kerchief dropped over my upper shoulders. It is most def sturdy. And the crazy section w color change plus stockinette border is going to provide balast needed. Enjoying this knit.

Question regarding #blocking my #knitting

I'm almost done with my first lace-project: the #PsychedelicaKal by @LaVisch

The original pattern is for aran weight, but I decided to do a lace version. I really like how it looks now. But I'm wondering about the blocking (which I've never done before)

When I block aggressively to see what it would look like, can I then simply wash it again for it to be un-stretched/un-blocked again? Or should I block it a little bitat the time to see what I prefer?

Hello Knitterati ~ Been AWOL bc am in hospital, 3rd time. Infection not gone, took 24 hours to flare, bad. This stuff is scary. MASSIVE antibiotics.

Just got pain meds after 8+ hour wait. In excruciating pain but relief soon. Grateful 2b alive.

This stitch is turning out so interesting on the #PsychedelicaKAL...

The coral is bamboo-linen in DK weight. The white is 100% lace weight linen. It's creating this lovely open, airy fabric, perfect for a "cooling shawl." Here are shots, back and front. A happy surprise, this one!
