  1. Pseudopod #horror podcast recently had its thousandth episode! Note, the story itself is fifty minutes long, with another fifty minutes of additional material after.

  2. I only recently discovered the writing of Christi Nogle, and I love it. This is the creepy story that won me over: “Resilience.” pseudopod.org/2020/05/22/pseud #ShortStory #Horror #AudioFiction #ChristiNogle #Pseudopod

  3. “I’m always returning to Rapptown in my thoughts.”

    …or am I?

    #NightTerrace’s own @petraelliott narrates this week’s episode of the #PseudoPod #horror #fiction #podcast.

The story is Kaaron Warren’s #Ditmar-winning “The King in Yella”, a very Australian reimagining of “The King in Yellow”, and you can hear it in PseudoPod 880.

  4. From the Tower, another three intense flash fiction #horror short stories for your ears tonight. It's almost as though you were meant to find them. (32:25)

  5. I'm shamefully behind on my #podcast listening, but one reliable bright spot has been #EscapeArtists, especially #Pseudopod.

They play a lot of public domain works which I get, I really do (Escape Artists are legendary for paying print rates), and I don't want to diminish modern writers at all, but there are some absolute gems to be had. I've no doubt Sturgeon's Law applies, but there's still gold to be mined.

Case in point, The Curious Story of Susan Styles, a ghost story (or, charmingly, a Psychic Romance) from 1893 which is still hella enjoyable today, even though it was virtually unknown.

    You can catch them here:

Disclaimer: I throw money at them, because they're worth it.

  6. Sarah Eley, #Trans founder of the original #podcast that grew into the amazing #EscapeArtists family of podcasts, returned to #PseudoPod on #TransgenderDayOfVisibility to narrate a powerful, original Cynthia Zhang tale of #horror, #Queer rage, and vengeance that’s a big middle finger to the haters: “We, the Ones Who Raised Sam Gowers from the Dead”.

Content Warnings for #Homophobia, #Transphobia, and #Violence; It’s horror, folks.

  7. The lovely folks at #PseudoPod, the horror fiction podcast, invited me to host an episode of flash fiction stories - and it came out yesterday!

They’re great! It’s creepy, eerie horror, not the visceral, violent kind. And one of them is by @bitterkarella, creator of the microfiction Twitter account the #MidnightPals, where beloved (and infamous) writers are lovingly lampooned and/or savagely satirised.

Find it in your podcast directory of choice (it’s episode 851), or you can listen to or read the stories on the website here: pseudopod.org/2023/02/03/pseud
