“The department responsible for managing government buildings is looking to quickly find solutions…”
Well how about embracing the MANY PROVEN BENEFITS—THROUGH THE FURNACE OF COVID—OF ALL OR MOSTLY WORKING FROM HOME you reprehensible, disingenuous, cynical, immoral leaders and managers who are setting this toxic, planet-and-people-hurting, entirely politically motivated hollow agenda of blatant RTO lies?

As Israel continues its bombardment of #Gaza, which has resulted in a devastating number of civilian deaths, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers #CUPW, the Canadian Union of Public Employees #CUPE, the National Union of Public and General Employees #NUPGE, and the Public Service Alliance of Canada #PSAC are calling on the Canadian government to immediately suspend the trade of arms and military equipment with #Israel.

@johnefrancis In another life, decades ago I was on a #PSAC union training program with some federal meat inspectors. This was back in the early 1980's when inspectors were on site inspecting on a daily basis. The beef inspectors never ate beef. the pork inspectors didn't eat pork and the chicken inspectors didn't eat chicken. None of them ate any kind of sausage. That was WITH neutral government inspection. It's no longer the case today.

well at least they got something concrete about working from home unlike most of the rest of the public service. (apparently - details are not public yet)
still feels demoralizing that the new deal is a "raise" below inflation. I guess it's the best any of us will be getting this time around. 😪💰 #psac #PSACstrike
I'm a CUPE member and a BC provincial employee by the way, so not directly my biz but probably affecting the climate of my union's current negotiations.

Canada Employment and Immigration Union, a component of #PSAC, just recommended to its members to vote NO to the tentative agreement. 100% agree, but I didn't expect that!

Public Servants Forced Federal Government to Improve Deal By Going on Strike, Labour Experts Say
“Workers do have power and can resist — you don’t have to just take whatever the employer says”

As a non #PSAC public sector worker I have to admit I'm a bit demoralized by the current offer and how none of us can ever catch up with inflation apparently. It's not even on the table. Even though my union #CUPE is still in the middle of negotiations the figures are even lower and the way it's set up they can not even ask for a higher amount unless all BC public sector workers go on a general strike.

Public workers got a deal!
+12.6% wage increase (over 4 years), a one-time lump-sum payment, and specific language about remote work.
Now the CRA.

Good job #PSAC! And good luck CRA employees in your continued strike action! Solidarity!

Here’s some happy #PSAC May Day news: After nearly two years of bargaining leading to one of the largest strikes in Canadian history, PSAC has reached tentative agreements for the more than 120,000 Treasury Board workers who deliver critical services to Canadians.
