They've got precinct-level maps for this and previous elections for #Zaanstad too: https://maps.amsterdam.nl/atlas_verkiezingen_zaanstad/

A starker contrast still on this map: SP vs #Volt! Who was stronger where?
Volt is mostly the larger party in hipper, richer, and very right-wing rural places. (Doesn't necessarily mean they did well in the latter — just better than the SP.)
In and around the major and university cities; the Gooi and the Heuvelrug and towns like Wassenaar; parts of the Bible Belt and ultra-catholic Tubbergen and Dinkelland. The SP leads most everywhere else.

And this is something I wanted to know: among the two parties (who each got 4-5%), where was the Party for the Animals (#PvdD, @partijvoordedieren) larger, and where the Socialist Party (SP)?
Although the PvdD's electorate itself isn't very metropolitan, there's a clear contrast between centre and periphery here, and the SP is unsurprisingly stronger across the catholic south. Some class and cultural differences too.

#Netherlands election map: which was the largest party *on the left* in the provincial elections?
The contrast between city and countryside and "the West" and "the regions" which marked the overall results is — unsurprisingly — reflected among left-wing parties too.

The Labour Party #PvdA suffered significant losses in traditional northern heartlands due to the BBB surge, but gained 4% in Amsterdam — an inverse pattern from 2021. Did cooperation with the GreenLeft make Labour seem a little sexier again? 😉

Thanks to @SjoerdMouissie, the NOS provides some great maps of the #Netherlands provincial election results — both of the traditional kind and weighted by population (and in my favourite way, with variously-sized squares rather than unsightly blobs).
The maps for the winning #BBB are esp revealing 👇

En welk percentage van de stemmen linkse partijen, opgeteld, kunnen verwachten in de provinciale verkiezingen volgens dezelfde peiling. Zo zwak in Friesland en Drenthe, in historisch vergelijk! #PS2023
Plus: pooled vote share for left-wing parties by province according to the same poll. Strikingly weak especially in Frysia and Drenthe, compared with historical patterns. #Netherlands

Soms zijn de dingen simpel: grootste partij op links per provincie volgens de #PS2023 politieke barometer van vorige week
Gotta love a simple map: largest left-wing party by province in the #Netherlands, according to an Ipsos poll on the upcoming provincial elections
