Hospital No. 126 – Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, #Ukraine
It served Prypiat residents and workers, it became a primary site of emergency care during the 1986 disaster.
The first firefighters from Reactor No. 4 were brought here for decontamination. Their radioactive uniforms left in the basement, which remains sealed due to the contamination.
The upper floors contain a maternity ward with baby cots & toy left behind.

☢️ Prypiat Middle School No. 3, Chornobyl, Ukraine.
Boxes of gas masks lay scattered in various areas of the school complex. Several classrooms still contain original desks, drawings and tattered textbooks, and occasional photos of schoolchildren can also still be found.

Chornobyl and Prypiat, Ukraine
In 2017, I travelled to the exclusion zone around Chornobyl. I spent two days inside the zone, seeing the areas around the power plant and the abandoned town of Prypiat.

Really do get a strong sense of how strange that place is; the signs of life interrupted, the way nature has return to the land that humans left.

After many hours of fighting with my computer and several failed attempts at different ways of approaching this, I finally finished my #30DayMapChallenge day 5 - #Ukraine.
The black map shows the streets of #Chornobyl, and the navy map shows the edges of the #Prypiat River nearby. I couldn't figure out a way to overlay them without getting photoshop involved so I'd appreciate any advice on that front.
