J'ai ouvert récemment le bocal de mes prunes jaunes lactofermentées, ne sachant pas du tout à quoi m'attendre et c'est une très bonne surprise, fermes comme des olives (d'ailleurs la texture est très proche), acidulées, pétillantes, la saveur indescriptible, probablement ce qu'on appelle umami, avec un très très léger goût d'alcool de prunes, mais vraiment un nuage, et donc testées en sauce, en salade et donc je vais continuer à expérimenter mais la surprise, c'est qu'elles sont délicieuses comme ça, toutes seules, donc à refaire !

I called out again, “Anyone home? Sorry for intruding, but our car broke down, and it’s freezing.”
Again, there was no response. The owners had probably gone to town to avoid the blizzard that was in the forecast.
We really shouldn’t have been on the road, but Grandma had grown tired of us and had hinted, “Thanksgiving is over. Wouldn’t you prefer sleeping in your own beds?”
My girlfriend moved past me to the fireplace. “I’ll light a fire. Why don’t you see if there’s food? We can leave money on the table when we leave to pay for any inconvenience.”
Clair had already begun exploring and called from the door at the far side of the room. “It’s a bedroom with three beds: one big, one small, and one in between. This one is too…”
“Don’t say it,” Rebecca called to her. I wasn’t sure why the joke bothered her so much, but it did. Rebecca had always been the stricter of the two of us and got peeved if I interfered, so I kept silent.
While the two did their thing, I began looking for food. The can on the table proved to be red bean soup made by a Japanese company. I’d always thought a sweet bean drink was weird, but I guessed it was popular. It was funny finding it here in the middle of the Bitterroot Mountains, and I wondered if the owners were Japanese.
A cupboard next to the stove proved more fruitful. There was some cup ramen, tins of diced tomatoes, a package of sun-dried #prunes, and a couple of kilos of rice.

Nouvelles prunes, d'Ente peut être, qui comencent à tomber, les petits vers roses les apprécient beaucoup, sans doute leur goût de vanille, mais donc entre celles que je laisse pour les "à terre" et pour les "en l'air," je teste un crumble de prunes (avec quelques jaunes toujours là), difficile de rien foutre même le dimanche

The bosc pear and brooks plum. I don't think the bosc will support 1 pear but I'll see what sets and maybe find one low and close to the trunk. The Brooks plum should support a handful of fruit.

A delicacy I grew up with was #pork #hearts. Relatively simple farmer's food. You clean them, stuff them with #parsley and #prunes and tie them together. Fry in butter, add water, perhaps a bit of red wine, and leave to simmer for many an hour. Finally add cream to thicken the sauce. Unwrap the hearts, slice them in cm thick slices and serve with #mashedpotatoes.
My carnivorous teenager hasn't tried it before, and thinks the idea is revolting. I'm hoping to win her over when it's served tomorrow. My wife and I think it's #delicious.
Pork hearts can be incredibly cheap here, compared to other meats; about €7 for 1400g. That's three hearts. Dinner for four at least.

* Pour le moule, à ma décharge c'est un type de moule à tarte assez plat en alu que je n'utilise jamais, et qui m'a été donné avec un tas de moules quand j'ai récupéré mon four.
Le plat crisp ne convenait pas, car trop grand, celui ci avait les parfaites dimensions et je m'en servirai régulièrement. la pâte posée dedans à la poche à douille a pris pile l'espace disponible et n'a ps débordé en cuisant, sans recouvrir les prunes. Parfait :)
