Parks tells us that it's Memory Park on Vancouver Island but @thetyee has an indepth article on the history of Dead Man's Island and has used satellite measurements to prove this park is the smallest. The Ontario government recently announced plans to sell off 140 acres of public land in Wasaga Beach, including 60% of the beachshore lands that are currently protected as one of our most popular Provincial Parks. Provincial parks belong to the people of Ontario and should remain protected, not sold for development schemes. To go #camping in a #provincialPark one has to:
• reserve the camping site three months in advance
• cross two sea inlets by #ferry because there is no road since the inlets go very far inland and it's very mountainous.
• the ferry must also be booked a couple of months in advance
• since you have to drive between ferries, you have to calculate the time needed
• without owning a car and also renting a car...Today I managed to accommodate all the factors at once!
