Not groundbreaking, but the work in this paper enabled the interesting polymer degradation studies my students & I are doing now. As you can see from the author list, many many people contributed over the years. I count 6 who have finished or are pursuing PhDs plus others involved in other areas of science. I am very excited and proud that Julia Pols very successfully completed their PhD in our group. They wrote an excellent PhD thesis and engaged in exciting in-depth discussions with all the opponents during the PhD defense. (1/4)

I am very happy that Storm van der Voort - PhD in the group of Hermen Overkleeft and in our group - was selected for a talk at the #Reedijk Symposium. He gave an excellent presentation on using direct-to-biology approaches to efficiently make covalent libraries for antibacterial screening.
