- One paper rejected (by 4 reviewers, ouch!)
- Another paper revised and resubmitted
- A third paper submitted to bioRxiv
- and 5 (!) excellent conference talks delivered!

I am very happy that Yorick van Aalst represented our group with a great talk at the 3rd @LED3hub PhD/postdoc symposium. He gave exciting insights into his project on mining the human proteome for druggable pockets.

Moving to functional investigation of S-layer in #Cdiff, work by Ellie Rockliff in #Salgadolab @[email protected] @[email protected] #3CdF2026 #proudPI

Not groundbreaking, but the work in this paper enabled the interesting polymer degradation studies my students & I are doing now. As you can see from the author list, many many people contributed over the years. I count 6 who have finished or are pursuing PhDs plus others involved in other areas of science. Greyson is sole 1st author because he got obsessed with NMR, did all the final fiddly bits, & wrote the 2D analysis. #NMR #iScience #chemistry #PUI #proflife #ProudPI https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2589004226005651

I am very excited and proud that Julia Pols very successfully completed their PhD in our group. They wrote an excellent PhD thesis and engaged in exciting in-depth discussions with all the opponents during the PhD defense. (1/4)

Very happy that Marnix Roseboom represented our group of the @LED3hub with a very well-attended talk at #NWOCHAINS. He reported on his #PhD work on developing #ChemoProteomics technologies to study #CovalentInhibitor target engagement at arginines.

Excited that Yorick van Aalst represented the group of Anthe Janssen and our group of the @LED3hub with a talk at #NWOCHAINS. He talked about mining #AlphaFold structures of the entire proteome for pockets and using this information to prioritize hits from #Chemoproteomic screens.

We always start lab meeting by sharing good news, big or small. Today one student shared that they had gotten a job offer and a grad school interview and another student shared they'd gotten one of our college's nominations for the Goldwater and had a summer internship lined up. What fabulous news!!!

My students would do amazing with or without me. But darn if I'm not one extremely #ProudPI today!
