News from home is that my youngest got a bid from all three of the volleyball clubs he tried out for this weekend. Last year was his first year playing and he has grown so much with this sport.
Oldest has a wonderful new roommate, and another great friend from school. These boys are the three musketeers, I swear. I think this year will turn things around for him in college.
I am so happy for both of them I could burst. It’s wild how much joy watching your kids bloom brings.

In 3 days my oldest is moving out. He’s off to college and I’m so proud of him and excited for him. But I’m also kind of a wreck. I’ve spent 17 plus years watching him grow up, and I always knew he’d leave (as he should), but I didn’t not appreciate the hole it was going to leave here at home. And it’s strange knowing I’m no longer responsible for his actions. Parenting is a trip.

I was so proud of Zoe today, for so many reasons. We went to see her playing in her band at school and she was brilliant on the drums. I think I was even more proud of her attitude than her skill though - before the performance, she cheerfully told me that she makes a lot of mistakes, but she's really good at finding the beat again! What a fab way to look at it! 😍

My 7th grade son was tasked with reading aloud in school today a paragraph about Pres Trump. I guess each student was assigned a president to read aloud about. He requested a different President but was denied. So when his turn came, he read his entire paragraph in his best Trump impression voice! He even did the hand gestures!
