The dialect preserves two of the three #ProtoNordic primary diphthongs:/ai/ as [ei]
and
/au/ as [öu]The latter diphthong is just about the same as in #OldNorse central/back ǫu <au> [ɞʊ], which is no longer pronounced like that in Norwegian [æü] <au> or Icelandic [øü] <au>.
