Moved there from LastPass.
I was considering #1Password at the time. Glad now that I didn't go there.
(The import from LP to Proton was fairly straightforward once I was logged in to both.) -

What haven’t I seen about Bitwarden?! VC money is why they weren’t my first choice after 1Password.
Maybe I’ll just get my 1Password ported into Apple Passwords while I figure out something truly multi-platform.

I just canceled my 1Password subscription and am trying Proton Pass as my replacement.
One thing of note for anyone switching is that Passkeys don’t seem to get imported… I guess those will be a manual migration process.

I am now recommending native apple passwords and encrypted notes for folks using apple products, and #ProtonPass for folks who use multiple systems or non-apple systems.
I just hope proton doesn't go milkshake duck on me in the future. <sigh>

So I've tested #ProtonPass as a #1Password alternative on all of the platforms I'm using regularly and it's ok on all of them. The Linux version needed a little more work because the Flathub installation refused to copy anything to the clipboard (fixed easily though). It's clearly cross-platform, but doesn't stick out too bad. I wish it would be easier to select entries by categories, but I sorted them into different vaults now which works ok. So far so good.

Today, my proton pass chrome extension blocked me from viewing a password by overlaying an ad for their "ultimate" bundle.

#Proton is down right now, and some users can’t access files or passwords. Outages like this are rare, though. If you use #ProtonPass, enable offline access; it’s made for this. For email, I use Proton Bridge with Thunderbird, so right now the only thing I lose is the ability to receive mails.

Proton servers go down the same day i start to use proton pass. 🤡🤡
Edit: i was able to access ProtonPass in offline mode, i was also able to access ProtonMail as of now.
