Good morning from Paris, where @OceanIceEU is starting the annual meeting today, but first a rundown from Heiko Goelzer of the #PROTECTslr project. I was struck by this part which I think is spot on when it comes to #SeaLevelRise from #IceSheet melt:

It is the meeting season for many #HorizonEurope projects. I have been #flyingLess to #PROTECTSLR @PolarRES + now it's time for a final trip to @OceanIceEU annual meeting.

A real thrill to be allowed to visit such an iconic location in person!

Interesting science, new techniques and technologies, old fieldwork stories, new field possibilities, and where next for the ice sheets and the climate...

Introduced Belgian colleague to #NoteableIO plugin for #ChatGPT - (ht @leifdenby ) just before lunch to assist some data analysis of #climate model output in the #PROTECTslr project. He's practically already half way to a paper.
It's an extraordinarily powerful tool.

When you are trying to work out the implications of #SeaLevelRise on populations you need to know how big and how much the population is growing...
Based on this probabilistic projection I've come to the conclusion that #demographics exist to make #climateProjections look good...

The #ProtectSLR project has it's annual meeting this week. We are in a converted church and it's quite the atmosphere for the #Science talks.
It reminds me very much of the the Pope's recent encyclical on the #Climate #LaudatoSi #LaudatoDeum
Fair to say the world's #glaciers are not having a good time based on these results... #GlacierMIP
