A Texolex caving helmet, probably 1960s–70s, next to a modern Petzl.
The shell is resin-bonded woven textile laminate: cotton fabric soaked in phenolic resin, moulded under heat and pressure. The suspension inside was webbing and leather.
Produced by Malcolm Campbell (Plastics) Ltd, London. Patent dating to 1957.
