Is it true that they could play for another team & the Wild are on the hook for their salaries, or is it just they are paid not the be on the Wild & if they sign somewhere else it is all gravy. What is the difference between a buyout & putting a player on waivers?

#PGA and #liv: Reminded once again that it is not about sport or the glory, its all about the money. And clearly, its not about honouring one's moral compass (assuming one has one) - why should athletes care if those who pay them profit from carbon industries causing global warming, have terrible human rights issues, sponsor assassinations - and worse?
I'm not expecting we'll ever hear of any pro athlete quitting in honour of what sport is supposed to be about. #prosports

#Decolonization & #AntiCapitalism & #AntiClassism work - all #SocialJustice related efforts - have made me feel differently towards #ProSports - it makes me feel uneasy now. I have always liked many pro sports & used to support them a lot more. I can't reconcile how much players are paid & how much is spent on infrastructure & advertising. When I know ppl are dying from starvation & climate crisis disasters & funds are more needed there than in pockets of pro sports folks.
