De twee Bark in the Park hondsdolle dagen zitten er al weer op! 🐶 Waar sommige honden zelf een zalf kwamen uitzoeken, kwamen anderen liever even veilig schuilen tegen de miezerregen 🌂en drukte. Weer leuke honden en baasjes ontmoet 🐩🐕🐕🦺. Dit evenement bleek de HoneyBee propolis zalf erg in trek, gelukkig had ik genoeg gemaakt! #barkinthepark #biologisch #Propolis

Even een uurtje dit fantastische hoopje ruwe biologische propolis (bijenlijm) schonen 🐝. De grasjes, paar dode bijen restjes en kleine troepjes eruit halen. De vriezer in om dit plakkerige goedje hard te maken zodat ik het kan vermalen tot poeder. Daarna kan ik het verder verwerken om het uiteindelijk te gebruiken in zeep en zalf voor dieren. 🐴🐶 #propolis #biologisch

There are so many reasons to keep honeybees – to support pollinators, for the joy of observing them at work, and for the #honey, #propolis & #beeswax that beekeepers can collect.
Join Master Beekeeper Karen Thurlow for three sessions to help you get ready for your first season keeping bees. She will prepare you for the earliest decisions you’ll have to make when starting out: what equipment to get (and where), how to put together a new hive and where to situate it, and what bees to order and in what 'form' (package or nuc). Karen will also introduce you to the lives of bees themselves – what their roles and basic needs are – as well as what you need to look for when inspecting your hive(s), and what each of the four seasons as a beekeeper will require of you."
About the instructor: Karen Thurlow is a Master Beekeeper and Master Gardener. Karen started beekeeping on her farm in 1978 after a class with the Essex County Cooperative Extension Service in Massachusetts. In 1995 Karen moved to Maine and her apiary grew to over 100 production colonies. Her experience includes raising queens, nucleus colony production, package bee sales, and wholesale and retail honey sales. She teaches beekeeping management classes, disease and microscopy classes, and serves as a consultant to organizations and beekeepers throughout North America. She is dedicated to raising healthy bees and sharing her know-how with other beekeepers. Currently, Karen works as the Chief Apiary Inspector for the province of New Brunswick. She has a small apiary of her own along the beautiful Chaleur Bay in northwestern New Brunswick.
Registration info: Tickets for this event are priced on a sliding scale, to keep our classes as accessible as possible. The recommended price for MOFGA members is $60; the recommended price for non-members is $75. Please pay what feels appropriate for you and your situation.

Auch wenn es sich noch nicht kalt anfühlt. #Fluglöcher können den #Bienen nicht klein genug sein. Von 4 Fluglöcher haben die Bienen die 3 kleinen vollständig geschlossen und das große zu 7/8 durch #Propolis-#Wachs verkleinert.

Mal eine philosophische Frage an #Imker*innen:
Welche #BienenProdukte sind #vegetarisch?Also #vegan ist m.M.n. nur die Bestäubungsleistung. Also Gemüse und Obst z.B. ist natürlich vegan. Aber selbst da müssen Ausnahmen gemacht werden. Für Mandeln aus amerikanischer Monokultur z.B. sterben viele Bienen, wie wir aus dem Film #MoreThanHoney wissen. Die sind dann also nicht mal vegetarisch.
Vegetarisch kann sein:
#Propolis
#Pollen
#WachsDabei wird den Bienen jeweils eine wichtige Ressource weggenommen, so wie bei anderen Tierprodukten.
#Honig ist auch #vegetarisch, wobei ich dem eine besondere Stellung geben würde, da Honig teilweise aus #HonigTau gewonnen wird, wofür die Bienen z.B. Blattläuse züchten. Also quasi sekundär vegetarisch.
#GeleeRoyale ist soweit ich es verstehe nicht vegetarisch, oder was passiert mit den entfernten Königinnen und -Larven? Aber selbst wenn die zu einem anderen Volk gegeben und nicht getötet werden - der #Bien ist damit getötet.
Und dann gibts noch #BienenGift. Bei der Gewinnung sterben die Bienen nicht, weswegen es durchaus auch als vegetarisch bezeichnet werden kann, allerdings werden die Bienen absichtlich in Angst versetzt, damit sie eine Membran stechen und das ist m.M.n. dann zumindest schon Körperverletzung.

Das Bild zeigt das Innere einer #MelliferaEinraumbeute 12 Tage nach Besiedlung mit einen vorweggenommenen #Bienenschwarm. An der Decke hängt #Naturwabenbau, der von Bienen bedeckt ist. Das Licht fällt von unten durch die #Fluglöcher in die Beute und beleuchtet sie schwach. Die Wände sind mit #Wachs und #Propolis bedeckt.

Zupełnie zapomniałem o projekcie propolis. :D
Nie wiem ile miesięcy minęło, ale wykruszyłem to co wykrystalizowało i zlałem na tackę kolejne 100ml rozpuszczonego propolis celem znów o tym zapomnieć na kilka miesięcy… a może tym razem nie? :D
Po co? No w sumie też się zastanawiam. :D

Ich vermisse die riesigen #Pappeln vor dem #BunkerFeldstraße, die im Zuge der Aufstockung verschwunden sind. Am #Paulinenplatz steht zum Glück noch eine und wirft diese flauschigen Würmer ab. Dieser Duft! Für die #Bienen besonders wichtig: Pappeln sind die Hauptquelle von #Propolis in Hamburg.

@mmuramoto yes, hobbyist #beekeeper for just over a year, but I’m obsessed and am learning as much as possible. Bees are amazing, and so fascinating, I really love working with them. #honey is super healthy, it has so many benefits, as do other products of the hive like #propolis and #BeeVenom. Bees are secure in their hives, I have them strapped down to protect from the high winds, they will just stay put until the weather dries out and warms up enough for them to venture out.

Das #Bienenvolk hinter diesem #Flugloch macht #Energiespartechnisch alles richtig. Den Eingang haben sie im Herbst mit #Propolis und #BienenWachs so verkleinert, dass nur noch zwei #Bienen durch passen. 1/3 meiner Völker zeigt dieses Verhalten. Ich mag diese Völker sehr.

My #intro - I'm an aspiring #writer. My first novella #PlaytimesOver was published in 2021 by #Propolis, based in Norwich, and I'm currently working with #DeixisPress on a book that should be out in 2023. I've also self-published four sci-fi adventures as Ray Adams. I'm also, at this point, halfway through my 2022 #NaNoWriMo project, which is going great guns despite the fact that I haven't killed anyone off yet.
